Inshore anglers have long been aware that a lot of released sea trout don't survive handling--now there may be a solution, suggested by University of Florida scientist Holden Harris. Of course, the "bite shortened" hooks may allow escape of that trophy you did not want to get away, but overall this looks like a good solution for anglers concerned about the high release mortality we all have seen in sea trout.

After decades of being a dead sea, Florida's big Lake Apopka is returning to former glory as a bass lake, thanks in large part to decades of restoration efforts that put an end to inflow of pollution and reconnected filtering marsh lands. It played big in Kennie Steverson's Toyota Series win last week despite being a 60-mile-run from weigh-in--details here.
