The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is completing the second fall stockings across all 17 Get Out & Fish! ponds. Adult Channel Catfish will be stocked across the state during the first 2 weeks of November. The Get Out & Fish! Program is LDWF’s community fishing program which provides bank fishing opportunities for anglers throughout the state.

In addition to stockings, LDWF will host a FREE Get Out & Fish! event on Sunday, November 3rd at Bogue Chitto State Park site. The event will take place from 8:00am to 12:00pm and will include free bait and tackle. Loaner rods and reels will be provided as supplies last. The event will also include LDWF staff and volunteers on site to provide information and lessons on skills to help you catch, including bait & tackle selection, casting, knot tying, and fish handling. Anglers 18 and older must possess a Louisiana Basic Fishing Season or Hook and Line license. Licenses can be purchased online at www.louisianaoutdoors.com.

The Get Out & Fish! Program is hosted in conjunction with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation (LAWFF).
