Job Title: Senior Buyer/Product Manager – Fishing Tackle

Location: Remote (East Coast Preferred)
Travel: Up to 15%

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Buyer/Product Manager specializing in fishing and fishing tackle to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the fishing industry, with a strong background in buying and product management. An avid fisherman with deep industry insights will thrive in this role, contributing to strategic purchasing decisions and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic buying plans to support business growth and profitability.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Identify market trends and customer preferences to inform product assortment strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and supply chain to ensure product success.
  • Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to optimize product offerings.
  • Drive product development initiatives, from concept to launch, within the fishing tackle category.
  • Participate in trade shows, supplier meetings, and industry events to stay updated on market trends.

Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of buying experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in the fishing tackle industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fishing products, brands, and consumer trends.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Must reside on the East Coast and be willing to travel up to 15%.
  • Avid fisherman preferred, with a passion for the fishing industry.
