Yakima Bait Supports EXPLORE Act

Yakima Bait Company, a national leader in fishing lure manufacturing, celebrates the passage of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act (EXPLORE Act) in the U.S. House of Representatives. This crucial legislation, sponsored by Representatives Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) and Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), aims to enhance public land access, streamline permits for businesses, and improve accessibility for veterans and people with disabilities.

As a staunch supporter in the $1.1 trillion outdoor recreation industry, Yakima Bait Company joins businesses and organizations nationwide in urging the U.S. Senate to swiftly pass the EXPLORE Act this month. This historic legislation, which mirrors the Senate's America’s Outdoor Recreation Act (AORA) led by Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and John Barrasso (R-WY), has already gained unanimous committee support in the Senate.

The EXPLORE Act is backed by a diverse coalition of recreation organizations, industry associations, and hundreds of American outdoor businesses. This legislation supports rural economies, streamlines critical processes for the 5 million American jobs in the sector, and meets the growing demand for outdoor access while protecting public lands and waters for future generations.

During Great Outdoors Month®, advancing the EXPLORE Act in the Senate would represent a landmark achievement, supported by a broad cross-section of the outdoor sector, including motorized and non-motorized recreation, sportsmen and women, conservationists, economic development advocates, and state and local leaders.

Yakima Bait Company is committed to the growth and sustainability of the outdoor recreation industry and looks forward to the Senate's prompt action on this historic bill.
