Lure engineers at YUM, part of the Lurenet group, say the new YUM Hellgrammite is unlike any soft plastic they have released in the past, ideal for catching both bass and trout.

The Hellgrammite is a small Ned style plastic shape that imitates a live hellgrammite with all its thin appendages and sectioned body. It is a perfect option for fishing in creeks and rivers but shouldn't be limited because this is a favorite meal of bass and trout everywhere, the company says. The Hellgrammite features a wide range of natural and shock color patterns to fit any water or scenario and can be fished on a variety of rigs.

Best bet, though, the company says, is to fish it on a small Ned jig and hop it near shoreline cover such as grass or wood. In flowing water, cast it upstream of likely holes and eddies or along cutbanks and let it bounce downstream. Set the hook when it stops!
