The On The Fly South hosted fly-fishing trip is just about full. We do have a couple of available slots left. Come join us for some great winter trout and smallmouth bass action in January!

We will be fishing for trout on the South Holston River at Bristol, Tennessee, along with the option of nearby waters for smallmouth bass. We have reserved the Hatch Cottage at Tailwaters Lodge. The Hatch accommodates 12 people, and we still have 2 slots available. The dates are January 17-20, 2025. It is a 3-day Holiday weekend.

The total cost per person for 3 night’s accommodations is $25o and includes catered dinners on Saturday and Sunday evenings. You will likely be sharing a room with another angler but will have your own bed.

January is a peak time for smallmouths in the South Holston below Fort Patrick Henry Dam, which can be accessed by booking a guide from South Holston River Company. The smallmouths congregate and are active in that section of the river due to the warm water releases from the Eastman Plant that runs for miles along that stretch of water.

Trout are also plentiful and can be accessed by wading the South Holston Dam tailwater on Tailwaters Lodge property or adjacent public waters. Or float trips on that section also can be arranged.

We ask that you shoot us an email to commit and send a $100 deposit to save your spot. We have set up a PayPal link (that accepts all major credit cards) at the On The Fly South website for deposits. The deposit is fully refundable up through Dec. 15 when the balance will be due.
