Florida Sportsman Magazine Names Ed Killer as Managing Editor

The Florida Sportsman staff this week welcomed Ed Killer to the Stuart, Florida, office.

Killer, hired as Managing Editor, comes to Florida Sportsman by way of a 30-year career in journalism and a lifetime of engagement with the Florida outdoors scene. A third-generation native of Florida’s Treasure Coast, Killer was a longtime reporter and columnist with TCPalm and the Stuart News, covering fishing, boating, hunting, and the environment.

“Ed is the perfect guy to lead Florida Sportsman’s print magazine departments,” said Executive Editor Jeff Weakley. “That includes our reader-favorite Action Spotter regional fishing and hunting reports, tournament coverage, and more.”

Killer will also contribute feature articles, investigative reports and commentary. “Ed has been a strong advocate for water quality and commonsense resource management,” said Weakley. “These subjects were always top of mind for Florida Sportsman founder Karl Wickstrom. I’m stoked to have him on board.”

“We are extremely excited to have Ed Killer join our staff,” said Michael Cassidy, Florida Sportsman Publisher. “Ed’s the perfect fit for our best-in-class content covering all aspects of the Florida outdoors from the Keys to the Georgia state line.”
