Scrounger Heads Lure Spring White Bass

White bass, a popular freshwater game fish, can be found throughout the central United States, including the Great Lakes region and major river systems such as the Mississippi, Ohio, and Red River drainages. Each spring, when water temperatures reach between 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit, white bass begin their spawning runs up creeks and rivers. This seasonal migration creates prime fishing opportunities, especially in tributaries flowing into large lakes and rivers.

Anglers can have great success fishing from the bank or a boat positioned near these flowing tributaries. One of the most effective ways to catch white bass during this period is by using the Fish LuckE Original Scrounger head, paired with soft plastic lures like the Luck E Bug or Swim N Minnow. These lures come in a range of enticing colors, including Moonshine, Thunderstorm, and Old School, all of which have proven effective for enticing bites from white bass.

The Scrounger heads, most applicable for the Luck E Bug and Swimming Minnow are sizes from 1/8 oz. to 3/16 oz., this will provide the ultimate swimming action, giving lifelike motion to the soft plastic bodies. To fish them, simply cast and retrieve at a slow to moderate speed, allowing the scrounger head to rock back and forth. Alternatively, let the lure sink to the bottom and use a jigging motion with your rod tip between the 10 and 12 o’clock positions.

These lures are produced by Luck E Strike, an iconic brand with over 50 years of lure-making experience, now owned by the Toby Keith family. Known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Tackle,” Luck E Strike offers quality, effective lures at a moderate price.
